Case Study
Lake Worth Waterkeeper
The Lake Worth Waterkeeper mission is to protect and restore the historic Lake Worth Lagoon and its surrounding waters, from Lake Okeechobee to those offshore, and defend its role in the greater Everglades ecosystem. We educate our communities on the importance of water quality monitoring, protecting our natural spaces and speaking with policymakers.

Overview
In my role with the organization, I was responsible for overseeing their entire digital footprint while ensuring that their brand voice remained cohesive across all marketing and communication channels. I began by developing a WordPress website designed to narrate their story, highlight their various programs, and facilitate the management of educational events. To accommodate program registrations and donations, I integrated PayPal into the website’s dashboard for a seamless user experience. Recognizing the critical importance of social media in the realm of digital marketing, especially for non-profits, I devised a comprehensive marketing strategy that featured a detailed social media posting schedule and targeted boosted posts for key events. This strategy led to a significant increase in their social media following, growing from around 200 to over 1000 within my eight-month tenure. Additionally, I successfully boosted their overall donations by 30% during that same timeframe.

My Approach & Contributions
In my role, I developed a wide range of content, including informative articles and engaging social media updates, always ensuring that our website and printed materials reflected the most current information about our programs and events. I took a leading role in the creation of marketing assets by carefully selecting and refining the content, editing video materials for clarity and impact, and overseeing all email communications. I also managed the crucial task of sending out reminders for upcoming events alongside heartfelt thank-you notes to our generous donors. Essentially, if it involved marketing or design, I was at the forefront, driving our initiatives forward with creativity and precision.
